dusk Bridal Fair 2012 – 10-11 March {appearances}

16 Feb

I’m gearing up for the dusk Bridal Fair 2012 at the moment. (Actually it would be fair to say I’m struggling to find my mojo at the moment, but I’m trying hard!). I’m at the same booth as last year (43) and really looking forward to it. The dusk Bridal Fair always feels less frantic to me than some of the others and that’s great because it gives me time to really chat to the visitors which, of course, is the reason I exhibit there in the first place!

I’m also quite excited to be launching my latest candle fragrance at the fair – and displaying some candles in my recently acquired reclaimed glassware (I love the Salvos!). No lit candles for me at the fair but the cold ‘throw’ (fragrance strength) on this one is good enough.

I also intend to launch a new range of wedding stationery which I hope to be able to offer eventually as a DIY option.

So lots to look forward to … now I just have to get my inspiration in gear! :-)

This year the dusk Bridal Fair has some super prizes on offer and all the usual quality exhibitors, fashion shows and displays. If you visit then be sure to come and say hi!

I Spy Photo Game {Wedding | Party | Printable Freebie}

7 Feb

Image from www.marthastewart.com

My WordPress analytics for 2011 showed that this post received more hits than any other of my posts last year, so I decided it was time for a follow up!

Let’s start with a basic Google search here. What an incredible number of styles and wording there are around!

I still think that this game is a great ice breaker and gives the kids something to do at a wedding. It would also make a great activity for those big special occasion parties – you know the ones: wedding anniversaries, special age parties, etc. Just change the words around or write your own rhyme (I’m absolutely no good at that!) and you’re good to go.

As a special thank you for taking the time to read my post I’ve decided to give away a printable I Spy. I found this rhyme on an image in the Google search, but unfortunately I am unable to find the original source so if these are your words please let me know so that I can credit you properly! The file you download contains two different colourways as shown below, it comes in a zipped PDF format and is for personal use only.

(sorry for the quality) Left is pastel, right is a navy/red colourway.

To download your file please click here.
Enjoy!

Candle Winner – January 2012

1 Feb

How exciting, I have my first candle winner for 2012!

And the winner is Stephanie! Congratulations to you Stephanie, my e-mail is on the way.

Every month someone, like Stephanie, wins one of my medium apothecary candles. To be in with a chance all you have to do is purchase a candle from me and then take a few minutes to complete my survey. It’s that simple, so what are you waiting for?

2012 New Ranges – Kids Party Invites & Accessories, New Wedding Stationery and Palm Wax Melts

11 Jan Zoorific Party Set Image 400px

Hello, and welcome to Just Jane in 2012!

For some time now I’ve had some printable kids party invites and accessories available in my store, but I thought I’d try my hand at printing some myself and seeing how people like them. I have printed out a couple of ‘fill-in’ invitation sets and accessory sets in a new range I plan to introduce this year. These items will be offered at my next market stall – 20th January, Central Walk Markets, Joondalup, WA – for customers to buy at a price they feel is fair for the quality. This is all in the name of market research … I’m a little bit scared but hope the results will give me good feedback. Continue reading

“Aaaagh Facebook!” How to make it work a bit better for you …

1 Dec
As we all know Facebook have been making a lot of changes recently – and I actually like most of them. However, I have noticed a lot of posts from the small businesses I follow asking people to ‘Like’ their post so that they start showing up in people’s feeds again.

The problem with running a small business and relying on Facebook for the bulk of your sales is that when FB makes changes – even if you are keeping up with them as a business – many of your fans have no idea what has changed. They are still seeing all their friends posts, so what’s all the fuss about?

 Well, let’s try and educate you and your fans shall we?

So this picture is my FB personal profile page a few weeks back and I’ve strategically placed large pink arrows to direct you to the two crucial things (in my opinion!) - Lists and Sort. Continue reading
