2012 New Ranges – Kids Party Invites & Accessories, New Wedding Stationery and Palm Wax Melts

11 Jan Zoorific Party Set Image 400px

Hello, and welcome to Just Jane in 2012!

For some time now I’ve had some printable kids party invites and accessories available in my store, but I thought I’d try my hand at printing some myself and seeing how people like them. I have printed out a couple of ‘fill-in’ invitation sets and accessory sets in a new range I plan to introduce this year. These items will be offered at my next market stall – 20th January, Central Walk Markets, Joondalup, WA – for customers to buy at a price they feel is fair for the quality. This is all in the name of market research … I’m a little bit scared but hope the results will give me good feedback. (more…)

Christmas Cards – 2011

25 Sep

So we are into September now and I’ve started on my Christmas cards. It may seem early, but I know from experience how time can creep up on you!

So far I’ve managed to use up the remnants of last year’s papers and I’m very pleased with the results:

I’ve also done a bit of work on another design new for this year:

I’m looking for new papers and new inspiration now. What have you seen around that you like? Are you getting your plans in place for Christmas?

Introducing Love’s Dream …

5 Jul

Love's Dream Collection - www.justjane.com.au

Rich red shimmer cardstock and handmade polymer clay hearts give this new invitation set a dreamy look. The set is not quite ready for full display yet, but I couldn’t wait to show you the pictures!

I made these mini red hearts quite a few weeks ago now and they’ve been sitting in a box on my desk begging me to do something with them. And then after weeks of hard work on revamping my websites and having no time to get hands on creative … inspiration suddenly struck! I love the floaty effect of the hearts leaving the tag. I love the deep richness of the red shimmer paper. And I love the simplicity of the overall look. I’m especially loving the font, Dobkin Script, at the moment too! What do you think?

The added beauty of this collection will be that the colour of the hearts can be coordinated with the bride’s choice of colours – we don’t have to stick with red … what about gold … or silver … maybe fuschia …

Here are some links to other red and hearty gorgeousness:

Colour Theme – Red from The Bride’s Diary website

Pandora Silver Charm - currently on sale at 63% off!!

Red Heart Lollipops – great idea for a favour

Red Heart Candles - Another favour idea?

Red dresses - I would not necessarily recommend buying a dress off the internet however. Do thorough research and due diligence.

Red wedding cakes – just look at all these beautiful cakes! A google search for ‘red wedding cakes’.

I’d love to see your red wedding pictures.

Knights, Castles, Dragons & Princesses …

16 Nov Dragon Invite Image

So my little one is having his fifth birthday in December and, after mulling over  a few choices, he decided on the theme of knights and the party will be at home in the garden.  I really know how to drop myself in it!

The first challenge was to design an invitation.  I was originally thinking along the lines of a castle drawbridge or gate that opens up to show the details of the party.  I’d like to have a knight and a dragon somewhere on the front & maybe we should include a princess too?  I have some lovely digital stamps that I purchased from www.scrappindoodles.com featuring a knight, some dragons and a castle.  The line art on these ‘Colour Your Own’ (CYO) graphics is by Alice Smith.  I’ve used the graphics for some of my son’s friends birthday cards and I think they will look great.

After quite a bit of juggling and manoeuvring of graphics on my page I decided that the castle option just wasnt’ going to work.  The doors would have to be huge and the castle tiny to make it right.  So, onto plan B!

One of the dragon graphics features a dragon sitting with his arms outstretched – perfect for holding something.  Inspiration struck!  I ran up a draft for Rhys to see with a traditional green dragon on it.  No, he wants a red dragon – red is his favourite colour, had I forgotten?  OK, so I’ll change the colours!

Here’s the final draft, and the ones that were distributed this morning to all his little pals. If you want to try it out for yourself I’ll be uploading a version to my website for purchase later today (www.justjanedesigns.com).

One slight hitch – once the tag is pulled it can’t really be put back!  Oh well, not everything can be perfect all the time …

One last word.  All the kids in his class loved their invitations.  Now I’ve just got to try and make the party stand up to their (perhaps) elevated expections!!  Wish me luck …
